A Recipe for Wellness: Empowering Seafarers’ Families Through Learning and Creativity
At 88 Aces, we believe that the wellbeing of our seafarers begins at home. Continuing our commitment to supporting seafaring families, 88 Aces Maritime Services, in partnership with Oceanic, recently held the “Wellbeing at Home” Family Outreach Day on 25 July 2026 at the Oceanic premises in Manila. The event built upon the success of last year’s program, bringing together seafarers’ wives for another day of learning, creativity, and wellness-focused activities.
The one-day workshop offered participants a variety of engaging and practical sessions designed to promote healthier lifestyles and personal wellbeing. Attendees enjoyed hands-on lessons in healthy cooking and baking, while also exploring creative hobbies through candle-making and aromatic spray-making workshops. Participants were likewise guided on how to make informed food choices through a session on understanding and reading nutrition labels.

The cheerful atmosphere, filled with laughter, learning, and creativity, highlighted the importance of supporting not only seafarers but also the families who stand behind them. As participants created homemade treats, handcrafted candles, and refreshing aromatic sprays, they also built friendships and shared experiences with fellow seafarers’ spouses.
Through initiatives such as the Wellbeing at Home Family Outreach Day, 88 Aces and Oceanic continue to reinforce the message that wellbeing is a shared journey. When families are empowered, supported, and healthy, our seafarers are better able to focus on their responsibilities at sea, knowing their loved ones are thriving at home.

Health at sea starts with strength at home—and sometimes, wellness begins with a simple recipe, a creative craft, and time spent learning together.
