We are proud for STI Maestro to be the world's first vessel to be awarded by NOAA two years in a row for outstanding efforts for enhancing safety.

Since 2019, our fleet has actively con tributed to the global effort of enhancing maritime safety by voluntarily submitting weather observations to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

During the Crew Seminar held in Manila on 13 March 2025, we proudly recognized STI MAESTRO for its exceptional contribution to this initiative.

STI MAESTRO made history as the first vessel worldwide to be awarded for two consecutive years, standing out among over 4,000 participating ships for its consistent and accurate reporting to NOAA.

We also commend STI MYSTERY, STI MODEST, STI MAYFAIR, and STI BATTERY, which proudly ranked within the top 25 for their outstanding efforts. Their dedication plays a vital role in ensuring safer seas for all. Well done to the crews – your commitment makes a difference!

Quoting from NWS Observing Handbook No. 1: “Weather has on almost magical hold on the mariner. Every change in the weather at sea is noted with a sense of trepidation. Reporting weather not only contributes to your safety but odds to your basic knowledge of seamanship. It is port of keeping a good lookout.”

Congratulations to all crews involved. You’re helping make the world’s oceans safer—one report at a time.
