Subject: Covid19 update 18 May 21

Dear All, Good day. In continuation to our last update, see below the latest news for the awareness of all our seafarers. • To date, The Philippines has a total of 1,138,187 total cases with 19,051 fatalities as per latest data from the John Hopkins Corona Virus Resource Center. • There has been a steady decrease of positive cases the last week with daily cases being recorded at around 6,000 cases per day compared to the previous weeks. • The NCR + was put under heightened GCQ status until May 31, 2021 and several restrictions of movement and opening of establishments in compliance to IATF protocols was relaxed. • The crew change restrictions imposed in China, South Korea, Singapore, some ports in Australia and other Asian Countries remains a challenge to our operations and a latest restriction on vessels calling Indian Ports, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Oman and UAE restricting our seafarers from entering the country within 14 days of calling these countries has added up to our challenges. • Vaccination process for the Filipino people continues at a slow pace and a total of 2,921,196 doses has already been administered and there are already 675,799 people fully vaccinated or a total percentage of 0.63% of the population has been fully inoculated thus we are still very far from reaching the herd immunity. • Some countries particularly the United States, started an effort to vaccinate seafarers from vessels calling different US ports and other countries are expected to follow with this initiative. • As discussed two weeks ago with our Government handling the vaccination program, it remains on target to receive 9 to 10 million vaccines by June and we will keep you informed on this as soon we get an update. • Citizens classified under A4 which the Filipino Seafarers belong, have already started vaccination with the Cities of Parañaque, Caloocan, Pasig, Bacoor and Taguig confirmed to have started the vaccination of seafarers so we are encouraging all our seafarers to check with your local Government or start registering on line by searching on google the various on line vaccination registration platforms corresponding to your city of residence so that you are already registered and will be informed once vaccines are available in your locality. Once again thank you, stay safe and get the vaccine!
