The purpose of the position of Recruitment and Development Psychologist is the proper dispensation of professional psychological services, including but not limited to, psychological assessment, psychological counseling and psychotherapy, and mental health training to the seafarers, employees and other identified stakeholders of 88 Aces Maritime Services, Inc.
Position Summary:
The Recruitment and Development Psychologist is responsible for ensuring that each individual involved in the administration and operations of 88 Aces are within an effective state of mental health. This includes the education on the correct nature and care of an individual’s mental health; the proper measurement of their mental functioning using reliable and valid psychological assessment methods; and the rehabilitation of mental health concerns and psychopathologies through research-based psychological counseling and therapy methods.
Qualifications:
A Master of Arts or Master of Science Degree in Psychology, preferably with a major in Clinical Psychology from a reputable university. A PhD Degree in Psychology is an advantage, but not necessary.
A Psychologist license issued by the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC). The possession of a Psychometrician license is an additional advantage, but not necessary.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in the clinical setting, specifically focused in the processes of psychological assessment, counseling and psychotherapy, and mental health training.
Core Job Functions:
Ensuring that each seafarer manifests an effective and functional state of mental health prior to embarkation, as supported by the scores of the psychological tests and other mental health criteria set by each respective principal served by 88 Aces Maritime Services, Inc.
Measuring the state of mental health of external candidates vying for open office positions within 88 Aces Maritime Services, Inc.
Facilitating seminars and workshops (in-coordination with the training department), ranging from small round-table discussions to full-scale multinational crew seminars, that discuss mental concepts and procedures, and other topics that improve the welfare and well-being of seafarers, employees, and other identified stakeholders of 88 Aces Maritime Services, Inc.
Providing counselling and psychotherapy sessions to seafarers, employees, and other identified stakeholders of 88 Aces Maritime Services, Inc who are suffering from various levels of psychological distress, including identifiable symptoms of psychopathology.
Intervening in case of grievance and work-related disputes among seafarers and employees of 88 Aces Maritime Services, Inc.
Monitoring and safe keeping of all records, including but not limited to, psychological assessment profiles, psychotherapy notes, and other documents that belong to the functions fulfilled by the Recruitment and Development Psychologist.
