Wellness for our seafarers includes wellness for their family at home. Together with Oceanic, 88 Aces held a 'Wellbeing at Home' Family Outreach day.

Laughter, learning, and the sweet smell of freshly baked cakes filled the air at the recent one-day training event for the wives of seafarers, organized by Oceanic Wellness Services and 88 Aces in Manila, the day was all about supporting the health and happiness of seafaring families — and it did so with a delicious twist.

The one-day event featured a full schedule of fun and practical classes, ranging from healthy cooking, and baking, to soap making, and even how to properly read nutrition labels at the grocery store. These hands-on workshops gave participants helpful tools they can use every day — both for their families and their own wellbeing.

Helping lead the charge was Paolo Chilemme, the office’s new Owner’s Representative at the Manila office, who traded his desk for an apron and happily joined the ladies in the kitchen. His culinary efforts, alongside the enthusiastic group of attendees, made for a warm and lively atmosphere.

The goal of the training wasn’t just about recipes — it was about resilience. By equipping families with knowledge and skills in nutrition and wellness, 88 Aces is helping ensure that seafarers return home to healthy, supported households. These wellness efforts go a long way in promoting rest, recovery, and quality time during precious breaks between contracts. Events like these remind us that health at sea starts with strength at home — and a little joy in the kitchen goes a long way.

Oceanic Wellness Services plays a key role in supporting the health of our crew at sea, too — providing expert guidance and onboard training to help ensure balanced meals, proper nutrition, and a healthier lifestyle for seafarers on every voyage.
